A Legacy of Quality and Trust: The Shahood Family’s Journey Since 1949

Founded in 1949 by Thomas Shahood after his return from World War II, Thomas Shahood & Sons, Inc. began its journey in the plumbing and heating industry in Ashland, MA. Operating out of a modest garage on Waverly Street, Thomas diligently served the MetroWest Boston area, laying the groundwork for a family legacy.

In 1973, Thomas’s son, Mark, joined the family business full-time, eventually taking the reins and guiding the company to new heights alongside his right hand man, Jerry Festa. Mark Sr’s leadership brought years of success and established a strong reputation in the community.

In 2003, Mark Jr. entered the business, committing himself fully to the family tradition. Following Mark Sr.’s appointment as the City of Framingham’s plumbing and gas inspector in 2011, Mark Jr. assumed ownership, continuing the legacy of excellence.

Under Mark Jr.’s stewardship, the company has evolved significantly, including the addition of an HVAC division in 2012. From its humble beginnings with just two employees, Thomas Shahood & Sons, Inc. has grown to a dedicated team of over 18 professionals.

Despite the changes over the years, one thing remains constant: the Shahood family’s unwavering dedication to our motto, “Quality and Trust Since 1949.”

Mark Shahood Jr.

After graduating from Ashland High School in 2003, Mark Shahood embarked on his college journey, yet the family business always lingered in his thoughts. Fond memories of summers spent working alongside his father and grandfather ignited a deep passion for the trade. Recognizing this calling, Mark chose to commit himself fully to the family legacy.

Mark holds both Massachusetts journeyman and master plumber licenses and has served as a plumbing and gas inspector since 2013 in Framingham and Ashland. He is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of plumbers and HVAC technicians, helping them realize their aspirations in the industry.

Residing in Ashland with his wife, Cortney, and their two daughters, Giuliana and Rosie, Mark cherishes family time. He is an avid supporter of all Boston sports teams and enjoys golfing, fishing, travelling and spending summers on Cape Cod with his girls when he isn’t working.

Mark regards his greatest achievement in the industry as the invaluable privilege of working and learning alongside his two heroes—his father and grandfather—for many years.
